Why This Matters

Internet access is no longer a luxury — it’s part of everyday life. Yet many whānau still lack affordable connectivity.

Local Linkup helps bridge this gap by offering quality fibre broadband at a price that low-income households can access.

Access to internet and the digital ecosystem is effectively now a basic neccessity, yet at least 10% of people in Aotearoa are excluded. We’re aiming to close this gap, by providing low-cost fibre broadband, targeted to these homes.

With our Local Linkup offering, the router we provide also includes powerful content blocking & URL filtering abilities, as well as built-in parental controls to manage and control online time, block inappropriate content, and other network usage statistics to keep your family safe online.

^ In order to confirm eligibility, your address and childs name will be provided to the school specified in your service order for approval of eligibility.

Additional Terms (in addition to Vetta Group’s standard terms)

  1. No contract applies to our Local Linkup services, however upon service cancellation, the Vetta provided router (including power adapter/cable and network cable provided) must be returned, or a no-return fee of $99 will be charged after 30 days following service cancellation if the router has not been returned.
  2. This service is exclusive to specified addresses or households with a child enrolled at an eligible school. For avoidance of doubt, in the event of any dispute of address eligibility, Vetta will determine at its descretion what is an eligible address.
  3. If eligible under a school eligibility criteria, this is based on the school having a school equity index of 490 or higher. If the school’s equity index is reassessed and is no longer 490 or higher, you will no longer be eligible under this criteria.
  4. In order to provide feedback to Chorus, some information from your service order, including order number, service ID, order date, go-live date, and eligibility information may be provided for analysis, however will be held by Chorus in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
  5. From time to time, Vetta may contact connected customer to re-confirm eligibility with our Local Linkup program.
  6. Upon cancellation of a Local Linkup service, any future reconnection will require new confirmation of eligibility.
  7. If a connected customer under our Local Linkup services moves address, eligibility will need to be re-confirmed before continuation of service is confirmed.
  8. Throughout service, either an active credit card or direct debit authority must be active on your customer account at all times, with your service automatically billing one of these payment options each month.
  9. Vetta Group’s standard service agreements apply.
